There are weeks that feel heavier than others, and the last one has been one for the books. That’s usually when I question if I provided enough support…

Truth is, like most of you, I did my best in facing times none of us has been through before. I don’t have more answers or secret tools than the next person, and I feel how heavy people’s hearts are. At once, I feel so lucky to do the job I do because I get to meet and talk to humans that care SO MUCH about kindness, love, respect, connection.

This week, everyone I talked to questioned how they can be part of the change. They reflected on their interactions, values, involvement, energy levels, emotions, parenthood, and they were trying their very best. Spoiler alert… We did not find a one time fix to the current state of the world. But it got me thinking…

One of the challenges minorities face is their invisibility. To move towards equitability, we need to bring the spotlight on all human differences and the diverse needs that come with them. That feels like an incredibly big and heavy task, I hear you, I feel it too.

I hear the exhaustion from the intensity of the politics, the brutality of the recent events, people feel polarized, angry, hurt, losing the hope for a brighter time. And I feel it too.

Then, I also feel this; people argue, because they are no longer quiet when someone needs to be called out! We feel polarized, because we have the option to stay in a camp we feel more aligned with. People share their hurt and tears with me, because we have the opportunity (*) to work through this together and share the load as a team. People question how to engage in debate because they are willing to take a stand. People feel hurt because they are trying.

Change doesn’t come without waves. Right now feels shaky, big and heavy, but we are not quiet, indifferent bystanders. Invisibilities are more and more visible, spoken of, and worked through. And that feels pretty good to me. There’s no way things won’t change when we do things differently. And we are.

With fresh snow on the way, please care for yourself, stay connected with the fun our mountains offer (or whatever else surrounds you), and take some time away from the news, for a moment. Sending some support your way with a metaphor from mother nature; let’s welcome this fresh layer of fluffy snow, embracing the support it provides to move over the previous icy patches, catching our next tumble a little bit more softly.

In 2026 more than ever, practice joy, pleasure and fun like an act of rebellion.

Take a fun care <3
